The founder of Camp Alaska Tours, Tim Adams, passed away in November 2004. Tim was one of the early pioneers of small group adventure travel in Alaska, working hard for many years to build one of Alaska's first, finest and most unique small-group tour companies. Tim's family and the entire CampAlaska crew are grateful to all of you who have contacted us with your overwhelming expressions of condolence and support, thank you.

Following Tim's untimely passing his family offered Jody Young the opportunity to take over the company. Jody had been Tim's operations manager and lead guide for twelve years prior to founding her own Jody Young Adventure Travel in 2004. Her goal for the future is to continue to provide the same high quality tours and experiences that literally thousands of people from around the globe have enjoyed with CampAlaska for the past two decades. She am dedicated to maintaining the spirit, quality and level of service that have made CampAlaska so successful over the years, even as we strive to innovate and improve the company.

It had from the beginning been our goal to recommence operations in the summer of 2006, and we worked hard to achieve that target. Unfortunately a variety of unforeseen challenges have caused us to put off our re-opening. Although this decision has been very difficult and disappointing for us, we have no other choice. Looking on the bright side, the delay will allow us more time to plan and prepare, ensuring a smooth transition, firmer foundation and a better product. Everyone who has or will contact us about our trips should get an answer from us on their specific options, and what we might be able to do.

2008 ALASKA TRAVEL OPTIONS

If you are planning on visiting Alaska this summer, however, there are other good adventure travel options available. We highly recommend:
